When trying to decide how much to submit for consideration, the applicant should keep in mind the following axiom about essays. A well written essay is like a young woman’s skirt. Long enough to cover the subject but short enough to allow the reader to be excited by his own imagination.

Player Backgrounds

  • The players’ character’s exploits are well enough known that the public will know an iconic story of each character’s past. This story will be told over and over and while some of the associated details will be wrong the main description of the character, his inherent purpose, and typical motivations will remain identifiably his own. This is done to allow all characters to form a basic trust condition, and establish initial roleplay without tedium. This initial story should not be abused on the presumption of complete knowledge of any character, PC or NPC.. I’m encouraging each player to be involved with the back story of at least two other players. You all were given the ability to write your own backgrounds please take advantage of the opportunity to be cool here – but understand that you should not attempt to outshine another PC inside of their backstory.
  • All characters will begin game at 7th level – this is significant room is allowed for back story exploits, including where you got all that nifty magical treasure each of you will probably be carrying around.
  • It is possible that the common man may not recognize who you are, unless you decide to conceal your appearance by taking drastic steps.. However other PC’s and any named NPC may contest your disguise check with their perception roll as normal.
